Indian River SummerFest is organized by the Indian River Chamber of Commerce. It is scheduled for July 20-24.

On Wednesday, July 20, SummerFest kicks off with the annual LobsterFest. This is a fundraising dinner for Inland Lakes School. Proceeds go towards enhanced educational opportunities for their students.

Events of SummerFest include:

• LobsterFest on Wednesday at the skating pavilion in Cooperation Park
• A carnival in downtown Indian River on Thursday
• A two-day craft show Friday and Saturday
• Kid Zone children’s activities for children organized by the Indian River Baptist Church on Friday
• Northern Michigan Rods ‘n Rides Cruise Night – also on Friday
• The Indian River Kiwanis Club’s 5K run on Saturday, starting and finishing in downtown
• Car show and ice cream social on Saturday afternoon
• Entertainment in the festival area Saturday evening
• A biathlon Sunday morning starting at DeVoe Beach
